Turmeric Morning Elixir with SoulBee Honey

I’ve been incorporating this turmeric tea into my morning routines as a way to decrease the amount of coffee I consume on a regular basis. I’m always game to try new stuff and turmeric supposedly has anti-inflammatory properties. Disclaimer: a lot of the food websites who preach the healing properties of turmeric also indicate in the recipe copy about “cold-prevention” (eye-brow raise), and cancer prevention (extreme eye-brow raise – where’s SciBabe?). Just make sure you read-up on the science publications with reputable sources before taking on this tea routine.

I haven’t tried this long enough to notice anything, and I’m pretty sure I still have lupus. But it sure makes me feel healthy.

For 2 servings (adapted from Hello Glow):

  • 1 tbsp. SoulBee honey powder
  • 2 tsp. ground turmeric
  • 1 peppercorn, crushed
  • 3 c. water, warm
  • 2 tbsp. freshly squeezed lemon juice

Stir together honey powder, turmeric, and peppercorn until incorporated. Divide the mixture into mugs, and add equal amounts of warm water and lemon juice. Stir to incorporate and serve warm, on an empty stomach.
